You set the lane
You make a profile with their name, grade, subjects, and what to keep in mind. For a student under 13, you manage the profile and choose the subjects, so Starlit stays inside the lane you set.

They open a tutoring session
They start with a short warmup on the same topic, then the checklist keeps the next step on the screen. A small check comes before the lesson moves on, because a nod at the end isn't enough. They can work with a timer, talk the idea through, or start from the page already in front of them, and they can pause without that turning into a fail.

You get a short summary.
Every other Friday you get a short note about the topic, what helped in the tutoring session, and what to try next. If they hit a real wall sooner, you hear then instead of waiting for Friday. You get summaries and session details, not the full chat transcript.
