We know what it feels like to watch a bright kid fall through the cracks

Your child is not lazy. They are not unmotivated. They are not behind because they are not trying. They are struggling because most tutoring tools and homework routines were designed for a brain that works differently than theirs. That is not their fault. And it is not yours.

Every decision in this product comes from knowing exactly where these kids get stuck, exactly what helps them get unstuck, and exactly what it takes to build real confidence in a child who has been told in a hundred small ways that they are the problem.

1:1
Tutoring that stays with one child for the whole session
≤2
Instruction steps in the mouth. The rest lives on the checklist
3
Phases every session: warmup, core work, reflect
K-12
All core subjects, every grade level

Getting started takes about two minutes

No complex onboarding. No configuration. Three steps and your child has a tutor that actually knows them.

1
Create a parent or coach account
Access starts when the first paid charge succeeds. Yours and your child's information stays private.
2
Set up your child's profile
Tell Starlit their strengths, challenges, what motivates them, and which subjects to focus on. For children under 13, you define the academic scope.
3
Let Starlit run the sessions
Your child opens Starlit when they need help. You receive a biweekly update every other Friday. No ongoing work required from you.

The gap gets harder to close the longer it stays open

😞
Without the right support
  • ADHD kids fall further behind as the work gets harder
  • They start to believe the problem is them, not the method
  • Homework becomes a nightly battle for the whole family
  • Bright, capable kids stop reaching for hard work
  • Parents spend hours researching approaches that don't stick
With Starlit
  • Your child finishes homework without a meltdown
  • They start to believe they can do hard things
  • You know exactly what they worked on and what clicked
  • A 2e kid's gifts finally get room alongside the challenges
  • You stop feeling like you are carrying this alone

Three tools that work together so your child never faces a blank page alone

Built around the three places ADHD kids get most stuck: understanding new material, organizing and starting assignments, and retaining what they learned.

🎯

Tutoring engine

Starlit runs the session, not you. One idea at a time, real understanding tested before moving on, and a teaching style shaped around how ADHD brains stay engaged. Math, ELA, Science, History.

All subjects, K through 12
📋

Assignment planner

Student adds an assignment and due date. Starlit breaks it into manageable steps and spreads them across the days before it is due. Today's view shows only today's tasks. No overwhelming lists.

Step-by-step scheduling

Vocab mastery

Upload any word list or generate one by subject and grade. Starlit tests definition, usage in context, and recall across multiple sessions. A word is not mastered until all three phases pass.

True mastery, not cramming

Starlit runs the session. Your child does the work. You see the progress.

Most tutoring tools hand over an answer and move on. Starlit runs the tutoring session the way a great human tutor does: two easy turns on this topic first, then one idea at a time, and no move-on until understanding is real. Not a general chatbot.

1
🎯
One idea at a time
When children with ADHD are given too much at once, learning shuts down entirely, not just slows. Starlit never combines two concepts in a single turn. Every exchange is one idea, fully explored.
2
🔍
Tests real understanding
Saying "I get it" is easy. Starlit checks with a question, a mini-quiz, or a "show me how you'd do it" prompt before moving on. It knows the difference between guessing and actually knowing.
3
🔄
Circles back strategically
Concepts that were shaky come back a few turns later, naturally, without making a big deal of it. Durable knowledge is built through multiple retrievals, not single explanations.
4
Built for ADHD attention
Short messages. Immediate feedback at the moment of understanding. Multiple-choice options when typing feels like too much. Off-scope gets one process-language redirect back to this tutoring session, then stay. Do not follow.
5
💪
Starts with strength
ADHD and 2e kids are often told what they cannot do before anyone recognizes what they can. Starlit always enters a concept through something the student already understands. The hard part comes through the strength.
6
🔔
Knows when to call for help
When a student makes multiple genuine attempts and cannot get there, Starlit flags it. Parents receive an alert. It does not pretend the block is not happening.

Everything your child experiences in Starlit has a reason behind it

This is not a generic AI tool with an ADHD label on it. Every design decision comes from years of working directly with ADHD and twice-exceptional kids and understanding exactly where they get stuck and why.

Immediate feedback is not optional for ADHD
Children with ADHD are neurologically wired to respond much more strongly to immediate rewards than delayed ones. Praise and feedback in Starlit fire at the exact moment of demonstrated understanding, not at the end of a session. This is not a design preference. It is how ADHD brains work.
🛡️
Shame shuts learning down
ADHD kids have typically experienced more academic failure and correction than their peers. Starlit frames wrong answers as useful information, not failure. The tone is always curious and warm. Without psychological safety, no instruction lands.
🤝
On-scope, then stay
Off-scope (other subject, trivia, just chat, other homework, roleplay, life advice, therapy) gets one redirect in process language back to the tutoring session. Then stay. Do not follow. Do not lecture. There is no chat-about-anything mode.
🌱
Mastery before moving on
One-to-one tutoring with mastery-based learning produces dramatically better outcomes for all students, especially for kids whose attention means they miss things the first time. Starlit does not move on until understanding is real.
🗂️
Executive function needs scaffolding
Breaking tasks into steps, estimating how long things take, and knowing where to start are skills many ADHD learners find genuinely difficult, not just annoying. The planner scaffolds this explicitly. It does not just list what to do. It structures when and how.
🌟
For 2e learners: gifted and ADHD
Twice-exceptional students are gifted in some areas and significantly challenged in others, often at the same time. Starlit never assumes competence in one subject based on another. The parent profile captures each child's specific pattern of strengths and challenges, and Starlit adapts to it.

Imagine your child finishing homework without a battle

That is not a fantasy. It is what happens when a child gets support that actually fits their brain. Starlit was built for ADHD and twice-exceptional kids first, and the approach works for every learner because it is simply better teaching.

    2. Who can use Starlit

Students aged 13 and over may create their own accounts and use Starlit independently.

Students aged 12 and under may only use Starlit through an account created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. By creating a profile for a child under 13, the parent or guardian confirms they have read and accepted these Terms on behalf of that child and consents to the collection and use of the child's information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Parents and guardians may create accounts to manage up to 5 student profiles and receive biweekly progress updates.

Tutors and academic coaches may create professional accounts with a roster cap of 20. Coaches see assignment completion and session summaries, not full chat transcripts. Same prices as parent accounts.

    3. Children's privacy (COPPA)

Starlit complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. Children under 13 cannot create their own accounts. A parent or guardian must consent before that student can use the app, including when a coach assigns work. Parents may review, update, or delete their child's data at any time by contacting privacy@starlitapp.com. Under-13 data is not used for advertising or model training. We do not sell, share, or disclose children's personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

    4. What Starlit does and does not do

Starlit provides AI-generated tutoring and academic coaching support. It is not a substitute for licensed educational therapists, psychologists, or medical professionals. Starlit does not provide diagnoses, therapeutic services, or IEPs. Starlit's AI tutoring engine is designed to focus exclusively on the academic content defined in the student's profile. The AI will not engage with off-topic conversations outside of a brief check-in at the start of each session.

    5. Uploaded documents and student information

Users may upload documents including report cards, standardized test results, IEPs, and other educational records. By uploading a document, you confirm you have the right to share that information. Uploaded documents are used solely to personalize tutoring sessions and are never shared with third parties. You may delete uploaded documents at any time from account settings.

    6. Subscription and billing

Access. Accounts start inactive. Access starts when the first paid charge succeeds. There is no complimentary access period.

Founding member rate: $19 per month, sticky on the account, for accounts that start paid on or before 1 April 2027. If a founding member cancels and later resubscribes after the cutoff, the founding rate is forfeited.

Parent and coach accounts use the same prices. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. Subscriptions renew monthly. You may cancel at any time, taking effect at the end of the current billing period.

    7. Refunds

7-day money-back on the first charge, then no refunds. After that window, payments are non-refundable, including partial months, unused session time, and situations where a student did not use the service during a billing period. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact billing@starlitapp.com within 7 days of the first charge. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in account suspension.

    8. Payment processing

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Starlit does not store your full payment card details. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service, available at stripe.com/legal. Accepted payment methods include major credit and debit cards as supported by Stripe.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund.

    10. AI-generated content

Tutoring responses are generated by xAI Grok on the server. The browser does not call the model vendor and does not hold the API key. While we work to ensure accuracy and age-appropriateness, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors and should not be treated as authoritative for grading or professional advice. Student session data is never used to train AI models.

    11. Data and privacy

Your use of Starlit is governed by our Privacy Policy at starlitapp.com/privacy. We do not sell your data. Session data is retained for 12 months after account cancellation, then permanently deleted.

    12. Biweekly email updates

Paid subscribers receive biweekly email updates every other Friday summarizing their student's recent sessions. By subscribing, you consent to receive these updates. You may opt out from account settings at any time.

    13. Termination

    14. Limitation of liability

Starlit is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Starlit's liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the 30 days prior to the claim.
